KOHO deCode hackathon 2021 Expense app

Problem statement
KOHO is a fintech company that specializes prepaid credit card with cash back option.
For deCode hackathon 2021, I worked with 3 designers and 5 developers on this project (9 people in total including myself).
Research & Analysis
We were given UI materials. We did quick benchmarking to understand which feature we wanted to have for MVP and ideated information architecture.
KOHO UI & Design System
Creating group
User needed to be able to create a group to add expense.
Step by step process
We wanted user to have a guided process to reduce cognitive load.
Instant confirmation
We wanted user to have positive affirmation with confirmation.
Iteration
Due to time limit of 3 days for design and development, we've decide to decrease the scope. Decrease scope included:
Linking expense to KOHO transaction history
Expense split data availability to users
Ability to correct the expense transfer after input
Creating a group
We've added ways group can be created through selection.
Step by step process
To reduce cognitive load, we designed step by step reveal.

User receives instant confirmation after clicking "Create Expense" CTA
Our priorities during hackathon
Compromise
We've decided to make compromise to balance time management.
Communication
We were all working remotely and it was key that we communicate efficiently.
Consistency
We wanted to make sure design and behaviour were consistent with KOHO app.
Final design direction
Reflection
Initially we had many ideas how we wanted expense app to behave and perform. Due to time, we had to decrease our scope for MVP drastically.
Working with team to create an MVP product required complex coordination and communication.
It was fun to create an expense app where we dedicated whole 3 days of our lives.
